Chris Groombridge, Joint Managing Director of 543 Dental Care (a member of the Association of Dental Groups) and Teeth Team’s Chair of Trustees recently explored the possibility of integrating dentistry with the rest of primary care services.

He said: “As far as I’m concerned, the only way forward is to combine dentistry with the rest of the primary care services. Yes there are currently barriers that are preventing this from happening. However, there are potential solutions available that could be implemented with the combined support of the profession, NHS England and other government bodies.

“Possible solutions could include everything from training more dental therapists to counteract the potential lack of dentists post-Brexit to more initiatives like Teeth Team, Dental Check By One and Starting Well. It’s not necessarily about needing more money, it’s about investing the available budget more wisely for savings in the long-term.”

As part of this, the ADG will continue to work closely with all member groups, the government and professional bodies. Contact now to find out more.
