We all know how important a person’s smile is to them. A smile is used to convey so many emotions, and missing or damaged teeth can stop a person from wanting to smile. Wanting to hide your teeth can be frustrating and upsetting, and having to wait for Cjarican exacerbate these feelings. This is one of the reasons why more systems designed to speed up the process of creating restorations are being developed.

Since its recent successful launch, the MyCrown system has garnered much attention, and it is easy to see why.

MyCrown is a fully integrated system that also works as a stand alone solution, depending on your requirements. If you prefer to take and send digital impressions to the laboratory, its capabilities will meet your needs. Similarly, if you want to provide comprehensive in-house solutions, it enables impression taking, model design and the creation of beautiful restorations chairside.

Gone are the days of lengthy waits for both you and your patient, first for impressions to be taken, then for the lab to send back the restoration. With MyCrown, restorations can be ready to use in a fraction of the time.

Patients will no longer have to sit awkwardly with the uncomfortable feeling of impression material in their mouths, waiting for it to set. Practitioners won’t have to worry about retaking impressions either, as MyCrown’s digital impressions will produce an accurate image, every time.

The system’s image acquisition unit has both 2D and 3D capabilities, so a variety of images can be taken quickly and easily. The intraoral camera is compact, for greater patient comfort and better maneuverability, and shows the area in real time on the display screen. Using MyCrown Scan you simply take images of the restoration area and surrounding teeth – of course, to be able to calculate the proportions of the necessary restoration and ensure a great fit for your patient, you will need to scan the upper and lower jaw, including the buccal bite.

The intuitive software is easy to use – once scans have been taken, the software provides you with a fitting proposal, which takes into account the anatomy of the area: the shape of the neighboring teeth and occlusal contact. You can then adjust the design, refining the proposed crown until you are sure you have the right fit for your patient. Tools allow fine-tuning of aspects such as contact points, or the anatomical shape of the crown. This gives you a much greater level of control and involvement in the design of restorations for your patients.

Once you are happy with your design, the restoration can be manufactured. The fully integrated MyCrown Mill with dual spindles completes the process by creating the pre-approved design, ready for use. You simply need to place the block and mill your restoration, which will be ready within minutes. You can work with whichever materials you choose, too – the MyCrown system doesn’t limit you to one material or manufacturer, so you can select restoration blocks that suit the way that you work, and best suit your patient’s needs.

It’s not just crowns that the system can be used for, either – the system can create a range of other restorations including veneers, inlays, onlays and small bridges, all using the same guided workflow.

Using the MyCrown system allows you to help your patients feel better about their smile within minutes. Having a missing or damaged tooth can affect self-esteem, so being able to walk away from the dentist’s surgery with completed treatment in one visit could do wonders for patient satisfaction.
