Sepsis is a life-threatening infection that affects more than 30 million people around the globe each year. It can develop from the common infections picked up by patients in dental environments and can cause organ failure, septic shock and death.

On May 5th2018 the World Health Organisation (WHO) hosted World Hand Hygiene Day – an initiative created to encourage better infection control against sepsis and highlight the importance of hand sanitation around the world. This calendar event raised awareness of the infection in multiple countries and made it clear that prevention should be a primary concern in dental practices.

The Steri-7 Xtra range of products from Initial Medical is a versatile and effective solution that will help ensure that your practice remains sepsis free. Usable as both biocidal cleaners and high-level disinfectants, these products effectively eradicate pathogens such as bacteria, spores, fungi, yeasts and viruses.
