Dentistry is a team sport. Only when individuals work together across different roles and disciplines, do patients receive the very highest standards of care and treatment. However, this is not the only benefit of effective collaboration between team members, as you will know. Other advantages include more positive reviews and enhanced business reputation, increased job satisfaction for professionals and long-term stability for all.
At Colosseum Dental UK, we make it a priority to work together. We understand the consequences of teamwork in dentistry and we appreciate that everyone has a role to play. From the receptionist to the dentist, dental nurse, practice or area manager, to the UK leadership team. We are all on the same side and we work together to deliver exceptional patient care while supporting career development for all our professionals. Every member of the practice team is as valued as the next.
People come first
The quality of patient care we deliver in all of our clinics is at the heart of everything we do. For our clinical teams to provide the best dental treatments to our patients, they need the right technologies, products, professional training and support. This support comes from management in terms of administration, from the reception team for appointment scheduling and from clinical colleagues operating within the surgery. Only with effective collaboration between all practice team members will each patient journey be optimised, their treatment completed successfully and their expectations met.
All our dental nurses are highly trained to ensure they have the skills and confidence to perform and support exceptional clinical procedures. They are given as many opportunities as possible to develop and broaden their capabilities through high-quality in-house training and access to external courses. Not only does this encourage outstanding patient care, but it also provides a chance for our dental nurses to progress in their careers and achieve all their professional aspirations.
Collaboration and communication
Collaboration is a key component of our overarching ethos and we strive to live up to this in everything that we do. We actively encourage our dental nurses to get involved with practice decisions and offer your ideas. You are on the front line every day and you often know your patients best. That means you are perfectly positioned to help us improve the way that we do things for the benefit of our patients. Whether you think new protocols would enhance the patient experience or new products would improve professional workflows, we are here to listen to you.
This open and honest communication with all team members is one of several principles at Colosseum Dental UK that we believe sets us apart. All our dental nurses can speak to their practice managers whenever they have a suggestion or a concern. If they need more information or support, it is quick and easy to contact the leadership team directly. We don’t believe in a hierarchy – we each have our roles but we work together to achieve our goals.
An example of our collaboration can be seen in the refurbishment project we conducted last year. Any and all changes implemented or technologies introduced to our clinics were discussed and organised in collaboration with our practice teams to encourage the very best outcomes for all involved.
Tackling the future together
If the past few months have taught us anything, it’s the importance of community and togetherness. Having a network of like-minded professionals, a group of friends who understand your point of view, is crucial when faced with new challenges in either your personal or professional life. We are more than just a selection of dental professionals at Colosseum Dental UK, we are a family. We care about each other and about being there for our friends and our colleagues through the good times and the bad.
This is the foundation upon which we have built our company. It is also what will carry us forward and secure the future of our clinics, our people and, ultimately, our patients’ care. When we work together, we can protect what we have built together. That makes for a promising future and we would love for you to be a part of it. Find out how you could join our #OneTeam today.
