Sony is delighted to announce that it will be attending IDS 2025 (International Dental Show) in Cologne, one of the leading global trade fairs for the dental community and industry. At IDS several of Sony’s imaging technology kits will be on display, alongside dental specialists who will be on stand to allow visitors to participate hands-on with Sony’s dental technology.

One of the major offerings at our stand at IDS 2025 will be the flagship SEL90F28G Sony macro lens. Macro photography is a pivotal element of the ever-evolving dentistry industry. An extreme close-up photograph is needed to achieve the level of detail required to get an insightful picture of a patient’s teeth, and this is what the SEL90F28G provides. Offering a 1:1 reproduction image, this macro lens is an ideal companion for those in the dentistry industry, especially since providing imagery of patient’s dental work is no longer a luxury but becoming a legal compliance in many cases.

Additionally featuring at the booth will be several of our mirrorless cameras, the ZV-E10, A7IV and the A7RM5. When it comes to the dental industry, mirrorless cameras are king. Their lighter build compared to DSLR cameras means they are better suited for procedures that require multiple and often complex angles. The A7RM5 sports 8K movie capture and a dedicated AI processing unit for improved subject recognition, perfect for hard to see subject matters, such as the dark interior of someone’s mouth.

On the stand will be several accessories made by third party manufacturers, such as Godox, who have created a TTL Ring-Flash which has been developed with Sony Alpha Cameras in mind, further making our mirrorless cameras solutions the ideal candidate for the job.

On top of all these great technologies, twice a day at the booth dental specialists such as Tim Zoltie, Head of Medical & Dental Illustration at the University of Leeds UK, will be offering visitors the opportunity to get a more informed and hands on experience.
