The mydentist Clinical Advisory Board has welcomed five new members, adding further strength to the level of support that it can offer to its clinicians, dental hygienists, therapists, nurses and wider clinical teams.
Mydentist first launched its independent Clinical Advisory Board in 2023, which is made up of practising clinicians, dental hygienists, therapists and nurses from practices across the UK. The Board guide mydentist on decisions that will impact clinicians, dental nurses and wider clinical teams – from supporting them with their development to ensuring the best possible dental care for patients.
The appointment of five new members means that there are now eleven independent clinicians, dental hygienists, therapists and nurses sitting on the Board, representing a range of backgrounds, career stages and locations across the UK. They will work together to continue to provide advice and guidance to mydentist on the key issues that affect the organisation’s clinical teams.
The Clinical Advisory Board will continue to meet twice a year to discuss key areas of clinical support, including the upcoming response to mydentist’s annual Great Place to Practise survey. The survey asks all clinicians and clinical teams to rate how they feel about topics such as the support they receive from their team and opportunities for career progression.
Nyree Whitley, Chief Clinical Officer at mydentist, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome our new Clinical Advisory Board members – their wealth of experience and expertise will be a welcome addition, particularly as we continue to listen to our self-employed clinicians and employed dental nurses and incorporate their views into our long-term strategy to ensure that all clinical teams working or practising at mydentist feel supported and valued. We believe that our new members will make a huge difference to our ability to continue to listen to clinicians and dental nurses, and act on their feedback. Our first meeting with our new members was fantastic and we’re already looking forward to acting on some of their initial suggestions.”
Tom Riall, Executive Chairman of the mydentist Board, added: “At mydentist, we strive to be the best place to practise dentistry in the UK, and the Clinical Advisory Board is integral to us realising this ambition. I’m delighted to welcome our five newest members and look forward to working alongside them over the coming months so that we can continue to listen, learn and ultimately provide the best environment for clinicians to thrive.”
Stephen Roseby, newly appointed Chief of Staff & General Counsel, concluded: “Our core values at mydentist are we grow together, we respect each other, and we achieve as one. These values are ubiquitous across the entire business, and our Clinical Advisory Board are an essential part of ensuring that clinicians, dental nurses and wider clinical teams feel supported and that they have room to thrive at mydentist. After a successful launch of the Clinical Advisory Board in 2023, it’s exciting to see it evolve and grow, and I’m looking forward to hearing from our new members so that we can realise our goal of being the best place to practise dentistry in the UK.”
